The Golden Chain: Yiddish Culture’s Brilliance and Resilience

Sarah Biskowitz will share stories of Yiddish cultural transmission, often referred to as “the golden chain.” She will touch on Milwaukee Yiddish history, and excerpt contemporary creative projects made by Yiddish enthusiasts. No prior knowledge necessary.
Sarah Biskowitz holds a degree in French and Jewish studies from Smith College. Sarah works as the 2021-2022 Richard S. Herman fellow in bibliography and exhibitions at the Yiddish Book Center.
